The Weakerthans: As strong as ever

The Weakerthans LIVE at SXSW - Night Windows from Aubrey Sabala on Vimeo.

My friend Daniel first introduced me to The Weakerthans, being a native Canadian and all (they’re quite loyal to their ilk, you know), and the first song I ever heard of theirs remains my favorite: Night Windows. There’s something about the introduction that gives me chills every time, perhaps because I’m anticipating the awesomeness to come. Whatever the case, I find myself tapping my foot from start to finish. This was the one show that I *HAD* to see at SXSW (besides The Parkas, of course) and I fought my way to a prime position with my trusty Canon SD-700 in hand, ready to record every second of the awesomeness. It took a LOT not to clap along with them (mid-song) but these are the sacrifices we make for RAWK. Enjoy.

Very cool video. I just bought ‘Reunion Tour’ — thanks for the heads up. You might also check out a band called The Swimmers from PA — they have a sound that is very similar.
