The National’s “Skin” Flick
My friend MacKenzie sends word that Ohioans-turned-Brooklynites The National are set to appear in a documentary made by French filmmaker Vincent Moon. The film, which follows the band as they record their fourth album, “Boxer,” is titled “A Skin, A Night” and will be released on DVD on May 20. According to the press release:
A Skin, A Night is a sixty-minute portrait of impressions, mutual
affection, and intimate moments you’d never otherwise see. If The
National’s lyrics seem to take us inside the human condition, Vincent
Moon’s images take us outside, documenting the beauty of the sounds
made by our human skin.
Er…yes.
As if the DVD isn’t already enough of a hook for completists, they’re also throwing in a CD of live tracks, demos, radio sessions, and b-sides. You can bet I’ll be pre-ordering mine!
